FrameSource Artist Of The Month
Ed Anderson September 2012
Inspired by his mother, who was also an artist, Ed took up drawing and painting again in later life.
Ed has been a practising artist for over twenty years, and as soon as circumstances permitted, he retired from his geophysical career in the oil industry to devote himself fulltime to making art. Ed works in both acrylic and oil for studio work, and creates art journals based on his travels using pen and ink and watercolours.
Ed says, “Although I enjoy all subject matter, I keep coming back, over and over again, to animal art, with a particular focus on canine portraiture.
I have always been fascinated with the relationship, which has existed since the dawn of time, between human and dog. Dogs may not have been the first animal domesticated by man, but they certainly were the first animal to share the campfire with man.”
